Wildflower and Farmstay Country

Discover a scenic landscape as unusual as it is remarkable. Blessed with a diversity of geography this region is home to impressive rock formations including Wave Rock, one of Western Australia’s most popular natural attractions. Throughout the Wheatbelt you'll find small farming communities set in remarkable landscapes; rolling golden paddocks of grain and sheep and, further north, outback cattle stations of vast proportions.

This is the region to visit in spring to see the dazzling wildflowers that Western Australia has become famous for. More than 12,000 species erupt in carpets of blooms following winter rains and designated wildflower trails of varying lengths can take you to the heart of them. Enjoy warm country hospitality at an outback pub or on a working farm. Towns in this region include: Watheroo, Dowerin, Moora, Corrigin, Bruce Rock, Mukinbudin, Kulin, Meckering, Paynes Find, Southern Cross, Hyden Lake Grace, Newdegate, Lake King, Narrogin and Merredin.
