Rockingham, Mandurah and the Peel Region
From spectacular beaches to preserved wetlands and natural bush with some great attractions to visit in between, the Peel region has something to please everyone. Rockingham is a thriving seaside resort town with an easygoing lifestyle and Mandurah is a vibrant city easily accessed from Perth by car or train in under an hour. Perched on the coast overlooking the magnificent Indian Ocean, this is where the locals come to holiday.
The Shire of Waroona, incorporating the towns of Waroona, Hamel, Preston Beach and Lake Clifton, is the perfect destination for a ‘drive less, holiday more’ getaway. From the Indian Ocean to the Darling Range, you will find pristine beaches, the unspoiled lakes of the coastal plains, fertile farmlands and peaceful jarrah forests. When you’re ready to explore further afield, the Shire of Waroona provides a quiet country base close to WA’s capital, Perth, and within an hour of two regional cities and numerous towns.
The town of Dwellingup, nestled in the Jarrah forest in the Darling Ranges, is home to sections of the Bibbulmun Track, the Munda Biddi Trail, the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway and the Murray River.
